SCOTUS did not stop Florida from killing James Duckett and will not stop the state from killing Dominick Occhicone today. There were no noted dissents.
The state carried out Duckett’s execution earlier this afternoon and is set to kill Occhicone at 6p.

Duckett’s execution was the 11th by Florida this year. If Occhicone is also executed, his will be the 12th this year by Florida and the 19th in the nation in 2026. Yes, Florida has killed more people than every other state combined.
