@nil@critters.gay The inflicting trauma bit is also currently used by the Israeli government to manufacture consent about the ongoing genocide. After the horrible event of the 3rd of October, a bunch of "museum" where you could "relive from inside what happened to the victims of the massacre" opened. And busloads of schoolchildren were sent to live what the victims of the massacre lived. And other people went as they were told it was their "civic duty" to go there. But what do you get from going through as-realistic-as-possible reproduction of a massacre? You get trauma. Horrible, painful, PTSD-inducing trauma. Those museums are trauma-making-machines. And they are aimed at developing in people a pure racial hate against Arabs. And they push children through that! What kind of nation is that? Who harms their children in order to push a political agenda? It's not about exposing crimes, but about turning a group of people into an vilain.

@pinkberet@transfem.social as if i needed more reasons to despise israel... i have similar concerns about people posting videos of idf raids and massacres in Gaza. there's no real good reason to watch people die, and it doesn't really inform you any more than hearing a death toll, and if you really wanted, a witness account. i don't need to see it to know that what's going on is a genocide. and it makes me burn out more easily now, having subjected myself to seeing some of the horrors
