Be sure to line up the red wire with the pin 1 indicator, unless you're using a TEAC 54B in which case I trust you know what you're doing.

Line the cable up and put the clip on top. Now go into the kitchen and get your IDC connector crimper from the drawer with all the spatulas. Put it all in there and check that the tooth registration looks good.
