I was track runner (still am, but far slower) back then and June was the peak for track and field season for u20 and younger groups, then July for work and August for full blown rest. Sure, I lived in small village and parrents just said - at 12 be at lunch at grand parrents, 17 at home for dinner and at home when it becomes dark.
