@pft@infosec.exchange iPhones have waterproof USB-C. I understand why UNA is using USB-C, but I’m concerned it will be more failure prone than Garmin’s connector. A full USB-C port has 24 tiny connectors. Even a basic USB-C charge-only port has 4 tiny strips of metal. Garmin’s design less delicate and easy to clean.

@pft@infosec.exchange UNA exposes the USB port- is invitation to get it filled with mud or dirt. For example see: https://mark.stosberg.com/how-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-garmin-fenix-5-plus-watch/ Garmin keeps their charging port underneath where it's much more protected. That's my own blog I'm linking to, which deals how old Garmin Fenix watches can be bought inexpensively used, are durable and can be repaired yourself with a ~$20 battery found online... plus Garmin software is very advanced. I'm cheering for UNA to succeed, but they have challenges ahead.
