@hackaday@hackaday.social For one of our engineering projects we designed a sewing caddy and the other students laughed but the teacher thought it was very cool and well designed. So I expect the answer is because it insults tineh fragile male egos.

@hackaday@hackaday.social but it is. You can major in textile engineering, and the engineering who design chemical plants do it all the time.
