Trump wanting to charge tariffs on the Strait of Hormuz is absurd. They don’t control that waterway, it isn’t their territory, and I doubt a naval escort would be able to meaningfully defend against a missile attack anyway. It also destroys trust. The USA has been trying to get the other Western Powers on board with military action for “freedom of navigation”, and now their leader is proposing actions that are blatantly against it. #war #USA #StraitOfHormuz #WestAsia
