@MikeFromLFE@cupoftea.social @jim_easterbrook@mstdn.social The compostable cups we had in a previous job were 'compostable' only in a special high-temperature composting process. A lot of big places use this because it consumes things really fast (search for the videos, they're impressive) because it's necessary for composting the cellulose bags that sensible places use for food waste (here they use paper ones, which go mouldy in a couple of days and leak). The one near where I used to live had a place you could turn up and take away compost for your garden for free.
