Ukraine honors the defenders Russia killed behind bars On 28 July, Ukraine remembers soldiers and civilians executed, tortured, or killed in Russian captivity. It marks Olenivka, where a 2022 Russian attack killed 50+ POWs and wounded 130. Ukraine's parliament set the memorial day in July 2025, and this year it falls on the fourth anniversary of the attack.
