I’ve been going to the gym a lot lately, trying to lose weight and be more active, feel better about myself. I’ve lost almost 10 lbs which is huge with my binge-eating disorder, which I control by counting calories (this doesn’t work for everyone, but it works for me). That and I’m in the process of getting my professional designation, all the hard stuff is done and now it’s just forms!

  • Hell yeah! Losing 10 pounds is HARD even without BED. I’m struggling with motivation to lose weight lately–working out and feeling healthier, but not managing my own binge behavior which is impossible to out-exercise. I’m really impressed and proud of you!

  • congrats on the weight loss! its so dam hard. its been one of the major challenges of my adult life. calorie counting is one of the things that finally helped me too, and also finally being medicated for my ADHD. the stimulants reduced my appetite a lot so i wasnt overeating as much and i actually had the motivation to count my calories and stay around my target for the day. ive been off my meds for the past few months and its been so nice to see that i was able to keep the weight off and even drop a couple more pounds. keep it up, it does get easier as you go as long as you arent in too big a deficit! if you run into a wall at some point, or start thinking about food all the time, try upping your calories for a week or two to give your body a chance to get out of starvation mode. its called a refeed if you want to read more about it.
