@AAKL@infosec.exchange Who's "we?" I don't really think the decisions you're referring to are being made by the vast majority of people engaging with this technology on a daily basis, let alone the vast majority of the human population. I would caution about conflating issues here.

@mttaggart@infosec.exchange No, I'm aware that they're not being made by the majority. But the majority isn't in power. The minority that rules makes these decisions, and minority rule has caused problems throughout history and got away with a lot for a long time before being stopped (South Africa comes to mind.)
