The whole point now is to "prove" that your won't disagree with the fascist government Which is also the reason one must provide access to social media accounts and any criminal stupid enough to post his or her deeds there should definitely be locked up. But that's not what this is about and we all know it. It's also not about the "children" or y'all need to definitely lock up your Epstein president.

@CoolBlenderKitten@mastodon.art @evacide@hachyderm.io This has nothing to do with the US, I am not aware of *any* jurisdiction in which wiping a device seized by police will not get you charged with an offense. Traveling with a blank device - or no phone at all - is legal. A particular government might want to snoop on people and turn you away at the border if they don't like what they find, be it a blank device or you calling their leader ugly or pictures of cats that are too cute. But generally speaking, you won't be criminally charged for that. Just turned away and sent back to wherever you arrived from. Also Pokrovsk isn't in Russia, which was my point - Ukrainians have the right, and some would argue the obligation, to say bad things about Russia. Doesn't mean doing so in an occupied/contested city is a good idea. The entire point of this thread was not about what is morally right or that a particular government, US or otherwise, is better than any other. It's that wiping a device in front of a state agent of any kind, of any government, who is trying to take it is a near guaranteed way to end up facing some sort of criminal charge. And that this is only something you should do if you would rather face that charge than the consequences of them getting the contents of the device. This conversation is over.
