@d1@autistics.life 100% agreed this is an absurd project, but on the other hand...at some point I think there is an argument to be made that the risk reduction obtained from removing hundreds of thousands of lines of code from a code base outweighs the effort to track other fixes...

    @sarahjamielewis@mastodon.social @d1@autistics.life While I do agree with that, the reason none of the other forks do this is maintainability. Resources in these forks are generally rare, most of them just about to keep themselves alive, and if Mozilla pushes a Chemspill release now, you don't really have the time to debug why your 40MB patch file doesn't work anymore. So my trust in this approach is kinda limited at the moment.
