You know how much of a dark pattern Facebook is? Simply typing “fa,” two home row characters, is enough to trigger it in most browsers.
I had to come up with a brain hack to stop typing it and visiting this site I freaking hate.

@ernie@writing.exchange @tedium@social.tedium.co agree with quitting social media sites being hard, but i struggle to see the dark pattern here. my understanding of a dark pattern is that it has to be mala fide by definition. typing a few characters of a URL leading to the top entry of your history seems to be quite benign. i imagine most people in that situation would want to open facebook when f a is typed.
