I just received a phone call from someone claiming to be a police officer called Noah Carter, saying I have been a victim of identity theft. He said he was notifying me and asked me to book an appointment at a nearby police station for further discussion. This came together with a reasonably legit looking email from the NZ Police, except it says its been sent 'via jamesbonepow.com' There was also an immediate and identical email from the "Australian police" Upon hanging up I called the actual police and confirmed there is no officer by that name and no case file with the number they sent me. It is apparently a scam going around, I don't know how it is supposed to work but beware.
