@dtgeek@mastodon.social What's really weird is that this is a cultural thing; other countries with movies that have had 3+ long times for forever have also had intermissions for a long time too (c.f. @dtgeek@mastodon.social (annoyingly, a lot of primary sources talking about this treat long movies having intermissions in India as something they want Indian theaters to fix, rather than USian theaters to start adapting)
