Alex Stamos made a great point on the Big Technology Podcast that I’d generalize: technology is increasingly putting tools of mass destruction, and mass creation, into individuals’ hands. We are nowhere near ready for the responsibility that kind of power requires.

@joebeone@techpolicy.social I said something like a couple decades ago (probably during second gulf war?): The road to fascism will be driven by fear of technology putting the potential for mass destruction into the hands of small groups or even full-stack individuals... ...combined with small-minded people's inability to see removing the *motives* for mass destruction as the solution.
