I really don’t understand where the “aboot” thing comes from. I’ve lived here all my life and have family in every part of the country and never heard it before except by Americans mocking us.

Stereotype, innit Most Brits never do what they’re famous for, like having crooked teeth, say things like inni’ and bo’ol o’ wo’ah, etc. It’s a combination of regional differences and predominantly white civilisations’ disrespect for ‘otherness’.
