Are there scams where someone bumps your car and then insists you go to the body shop of a relative with a sob story about insurance? Or did I just find a weird and specific genre of person doing the rear ending today? (I am fine, car doesn't seem badly damaged, insurance totally invoked, I am just weirded out a bit about the events of the day).

    I also love that anything online talking about accidents says to get a full police report regardless of damage, and the police here basically won't come out unless it is a bad accident and they won't write a report unless there is obvious extensive damage. 😒

    @commonst@social.vivaldi.net I lightly tapped not one, but TWO luxury trucks this year. Paid the $1200 for truck #1, but I let my insurance pay the $2100 for truck #2!! I really don't think that people should be able to use insurance for cosmetic damage to vehicles, given those kinds of costs. However, damage to the fender is possible with a rear-end.
