so i'm getting my orchiectomy in just under a month and realized is should probably tell work that i need to take some time off soon
how much time did people take off work? when i asked at the surgeon's office they suggested 2 weeks. i work from home so i don't need to worry about commuting or anything, just the ability to sit at a desk and be reasonably comfortable
also, how did you communicate this to more casual acquaintances? for work, i'm thinking of saying "i need 2 weeks off for medical leave" or "2 weeks off for minor surgery" or something like that
but i'm also kind of curious if there's another surgery that would have a comparable recovery time that i could say it is if someone is nosy but i don't feel like revealing what it actually was to them (for work i'm sure i can keep it very generic but i want to have a "safe" answer ready)

@jiub@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net my honest answer: I need two weeks off for a surgery. for anyone that asks specifics: I'm glad you're interested, but it's none of your business.
