@bazkie@beige.party @sknob@mamot.fr i have many thoughts to share here buy don't want to sound pretentious. so just sharing my own way of working, maybe it helps. i found that personally it makes a huge difference if my basic materials are very nearby so i can speedrun through ideas and structure and embellish later. that holds true also for muscle memory - fast keyboard shortcuts, organized collections (of samples or synths or fx and presets) ... THEN what matters is listening within - as intuitively as possible hearing in my head/heart for what it would feel amazing after that intro.. once I have a (musical) idea (transition, new element, removing a layer, etc), holding onto it and put it down on the timeline calmly but not sitting onto it too long. i love breaking the rules and expectations, to play, to have fun. also there are no rules... use chord progression from the internet, and making it own by changing elements. mileage is crucial here. working daily makes such a difference. perfection kills creativity. there. i did it. smartassholery.
