I wanted to note that the guy behind this was on the death row a decade ago for "stealing nearly three billion dollars": https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68884549 Then his sentence got commuted to 20 years imprisonment and magically he became the crypto kingpin in Iran. Now I understand where Trump gets his inspirations from...

In retrospect, realizing scope and origin of this one was probably my second biggest "oh shit" investigation moment so far. (The actual biggest one we'll probably never publish on, but I can dream...)
