They got it honestly, though: that person's entire family shouts at each other. Being around them is like standing near a howler monkey exhibit. Story time: I worked in an open office once where one guy was a shouter. He'd walk up next to my desk and just BLAST. I downloaded an app that measures sound levels and set it to beep whenever it detected >80dB. First time it went off he asked what it was and I told him. Took a few times but he taught himself not to shout at my desk. I think he genuinely didn't know how loud he was. This was only the second time in my life that I'd seen someone's default behavior actually change.
