A friend and I were discussing LLMs today. He mentioned a recent news story about Claude making headway on a famous unsolved math problem.

If there is anyone in the math(s) field who has heard about this, I'd like to try to understand what's going on. It is difficult to find any information about this news that isn't from the "AI" hype crowd.
