Another issue was interoperability: my Akkoma instance constantly failed to show correct numbers for pools, likes, and boosts. I was told that it was actually Mastodon on my peers' side that implements the protocol incorrectly. But to be honest, when all the people I want to follow and care about are in Mastodon instances, I prefer to be on the insurance that implements the protocol "incorrectly".
