@Tutanota@mastodon.social ID verification via "short video selfies" is stupid, and is now ineffective at it's advertised purpose. It implies that realtime deepfake technology doesn't already exist, SMH... Run a realtime webcam deepfake on a good gaming computer setup, point the phone camera at the screen, and this 'verification' implementation is cooked... This is probably a coverup for yet another data collection scheme. Facebook/Meta is known for those. (remember that "Onavo Protect" app?)
