@OndrejMirtes@phpc.social It's a pity, you're so all-in AI. I love PHPStan. Even if leaving all ethical problems aside (and there are several): no, the average software quality won't increase. Good developers using those tools wisely can benefit, bad developers won't, vibe coders won't learn anything at all. If coding were solely about writing correct code... but we all know, that's not true. Some software will get better, but on the other hand there's an avalanche of useless, unmaintained slop.

    @xela@troet.cafe I really like this take: https://infosec.exchange/@art4/116990536151677007 Preventing people who didn't create their custom software yet (and can now thanks to LLMs) feels like gatekeeping. Me writing PHP projects 20 years ago with all the SQL injections and XSS were worse than today's AI slop.
