🪶SOUND OF FEATHERS WATERFALL💦
Kiyomizu-dera's 'Otowa-no-taki' (音羽の滝) is channeled into three streams so that worshippers can reach out with ladles to catch and drink the sacred water.
The waterfall is the source of the temple's name. Kiyomizu '清水'🤔 = 'pure waters'😌

Tradition tells us that the waters do not actually differ in power, but recently the three streams have been wrongly promoted as offering their own qualities: the right for 'intelligence', the middle for 'health' and the left for 'longevity'. #Kyoto #Japan #京都 #清水寺 #音羽の滝
