@ewen@social.ewenbell.com @StevenLawsonPhotography@mastoart.social I find that when I’m using an MF lens with a shallow DoF, I’m spending more time considering exactly where I set that focal point - it’s an artier shot that I use that for, say grasses in a sunset or whatever, so I’m considering do I want the focal point on the very front of the subject, making it seem sharp, or do I want it within it, so it seems more dreamy?
Same with street/architecture, where do I want the focal plane to cut the image.
I know you can do this with point-focus AF, but watching the peaking show how the focal plane intersects with the image is different to just picking a spot that you want to be sharp
