@grwster@mastodon.social I don't recall the specifics of this case but I think the way options work is: you sell the rights to make a movie and it expires after N years of you don't actually make it. Then you can sell it again. So I think Gibson already got paid multiple times for nothing happening. Which is perhaps the ideal outcome.
