Beloved Bert had to locate a wingless variety of grasshoppers that could not fly or hop, so they would be unable to escape during filming. He imported 200 from Texas.
He kept them in boxes without food, and at the end of production only twelve were still alive from the insect cannibalism.

Many Katydid photos on Masto are misidentified as grasshoppers. After tonight's feature, let's commit to giving Katydids the respect they deserve. #Monsterdon #BeginningOfTheEnd
