in all seriousness, is it just me or have you noticed how within the last six years, as our material conditions and the world became worse, suddenly everything is gachaified and everything has gambling elements. all these spinning wheels, betting apps that literally let you bet on the news, loan apps that you pay for your food with... it's almost like a form of extreme consumerism or escapism. the circuses when the bread runs dry

this reminds me of how my food recipe and fitness tracking app i use showered me with thousands of questionnaires and wheels and animations and all that fucking hogwash. that it takes me an entire minute of uncut time to log in to find the fucking french onion soup recipe, to the point that i stopped using it at all.

@mynameistillian@plush.city oh, absolutely! It's all addiction-loops. You're not going insane, most people just don't see it. And of the ones who do, half of them don't care. It's kinda sad TBH...
