Huh, I have never heard of butterfly houses and can't imagine what life stage "slits in wood" would support.

@aosmith16@hachyderm.io Butterfly houses are supposed to provide hiding spots for overwintering adults. I.e., they land near the slits, fold their wings, then slide in. There are of course no photographs of a butterfly actually doing this so the ads are always illustrations or AI constructs. Total scam that targets nature lovers.
