When I bring this up, people tend to react a bit... awkwardly. But like, this is not me WISHING it. This is me trying to make decisions around what is likely to happen, and making peace with it in the process.

It's not planning a suicide (or a murder, since people also have that kind of reaction when I talk about my plans in case of my partner's death) If the worst happens, things are taken care of and the survivors don't have to deal with everything on top of grief. (Or, for the survivors who can't take care of anything like Tippy or my kids, we won't have to worry about them during our last moments) If not... So what? Nothing bad happened, we had less to worry about at the times when it seems like something could go wrong, it's a win/win situation! And around me the people most worried seeing me taking that kind of precautions are the most anxious about their own mortality.
