Discoverability of small open source software always was a problem. But #AI made this so much worse. Nobody seems to have a look what others already built, and instead fires up a new project. Case in point: There are at least 5 different projects on GitHub to query Bosch heat pumps from #HomeAssistant via Bosch PoinTT API. All have almost exactly the same feature set - and partly even the same open issues. None of the code and maintenance effort is shared, though.
