Lots of tree damage again last night for Edmonton city workers (likely getting extra pay for having to work through the night). Climate inaction has turned the big old trees into a tax increase because the multi-annnual drought weakened and killed the big trees followed by the endless storms now ripping them apart.
There's appears to be an ever increasing urban budget needed for tree maintenance, and any new trees planted will need to be much more resilient to the new climate than the elms and oaks that were planted for shade a century ago.
