Codeberg's decision to not tolerate LLM slop wasn't a top-down decision made by some CEO/dictator. Codeberg is a collective and anyone can become a member with voting rights. The members voted democratically, and about 70% of the members were in favor of not tolerating LLM slop. This decision is the will of the majority. It's the democratic will of the collective. For talking so much about how "AI" democratizes this or that (software engineering, music making, …), the AI bros really don't understand democracy. Nobody is forcing AI bros to use Codeberg if they don't like that decision. Codeberg isn't a monopoly. Unlike with the monopolies these "Zero to One" Thiel fans love so much, there are plenty of alternatives where they can take their LLM slop (GitHub, GitLab, CodeFloe, …) if they dislike Codeberg. The AI bros can even self-host a forge of their own with Forgejo. Which they can do free of charge thanks to Codeberg. I won't say more to avoid giving the AI bros ideas. Just read my post again to know what I hold back. These CEO-loving monopoly-loving AI bros cannot handle it when other people have different opinions than them, that don't even affect them. "There can be no other god but my god." These AI bros live lives that are so empty in their chase for ever more money, in their chase for status, for titles—their lives lack any sort of meaning or purpose or community, or true happiness and self-acceptance—that they try to fill the void in their lacking lives with a religious fervor not much different from Christian missionaries or conquistadores. Finally: If you like the idea of collectives and community, you'll like #anarchism. Anarchism is democracy without a state, according to David Graeber.
