I had a chance to ask Prof. Michael Mann about how long it would take for the land-air-sea heat equilibrium to be restored (if we went zero carbon tomorrow). His answer was 50 years. The oceans will continue to heat the atmosphere for at least 50 years after we hit zero carbon. That is the most optimistic estimate I’ve read. Other climatologists say up to 200 years. We will not live long enough to see the #climate stabilize.
