We already have one of those. We call it “The Philippines.” Or “Vietnam.” Or “India.” Or any of the other places corporate America has been outsourcing its lower-skilled work to.
AI hasn’t made so much of a scratch in that outflow of work, and doesn’t seem like it ever will.

Alternative hypothesis which describes US jobs data: The US is in a recession, but doesn’t want to admit it. Remove LLM capex and there’s very little holding the economy up at the moment.
