@Abelvicent@mastodon.social An area in our city was constantly flooding. There was nowhere for the water to replenish the soil as it was all paved over. So they removed the massive unused parking lots and returned the ground to the native wildflowers. The flooding for the entire area stopped. Birds returned. Life once again returned.
