Print bed leveling still is not automated enough to satisfy me. Even with ABL, you still always start with manual leveling because ABL will do a better job then, and manual leveling still relies on the "make nozzle touch sheet of paper" process which is just absolutely wild. Not the sheet of paper - the "touch" part of it. That is just zero reproducible. I want this pressure sensor to put below the nozzle that a Youtube made somewhen but I think it's no longer available.

@wildrikku@mastodon.gamedev.place using sensorless homing (stall detection) might be more reproducible than manual calibration? Whenever I use glass or metal print beds, I visually gauge the distance between the nozzle and its reflection in the print bed. I think that is more accurate. A real metal shim set would also be more accurate than paper. Setting valve gaps on engines is done by feel with metal gauges - that's gotta be accurate enough for 3d printers!
