My current theory is that the pharmacy business is just a sideline for CVS and its primary mission is wasting paper...

@jzb@hachyderm.io I think the receipts are primarily a part of their loss prevention strategy for self checkout. I.e. the weirdo watching people check out is looking for the motion of it printing, maybe of you pulling it off, maybe of throwing it away.
