@TerminalTilt@social.terminaltilt.com 🤝 Alright, thanks for explaining your perspective !! 🥷🏼 I think big music has trained many in society to wrongly think that public music sharing is illegal, but/and in my understanding of case/law, fair-use, and precedent over sharing ... it's not that black and white and, in my understanding, comes down to ephemeral vs. persistent. It also comes down to type of access (listening vs. downloading). But/and, I retain a lawyer to fight for these legal opinions in court and not everyone has that privilege. ✍️ Scope and profit are also legal variables, not just lay opinions, so how much one shares, how broadly they share it and or whether they are profiting over it, also matter legally, not just ethically. These are my opinions and not necessarily a response to your opinions. I know others that share your concern and also limit sharing to listenbrainz only for similar reasons as you espoused.
