@quixoticgeek@social.v.st I have always felt that it will end up in control rooms because it is likely cheaper than people answering calls. It is also easier to defend legally when things go wrong. If a call taker makes a mistake and someone dies the emergency service will likely pay out. If an AI tool cocks up there will be layers of insurance, Contracts etc etc to protect all concerned and making it easier to blame someone else and not pay out.
