@ChuckMcManis@chaos.social On the tangential topic of malls, the thing that strikes me about visiting Poland is that shopping malls thrive over there. But it's largely because they were imported from the US fairly late and were seen as prestige projects that would be built in premium locations near to where people work and live.
In the US, most malls were a drive away, so they were successful only because you couldn't find the same entertainment and shopping options nearby. And I guess the internet ruined that.
I think there are some urban malls in the US that are still doing fine.
