@andypiper@macaw.social I feel like the list of professions for that is a bit anachronistic and that's why it's still there. At one time a bank manager would be a trusted local person people knew, nowadays it's just an employee that isn't even trusted by their employer to say 'yes this person is this person' For example in Canada it could also be a postal employee, again from a time when the post office was actually part of the community. If anything it's hold overs from when we had more of a community 😣
