@GrimDeck@mastodon.social This is NOT TRUE. As of a 2020 rules update, commanders go to a zone as normal before their own gets to decide if they get whisked off to the Command Zone.

@Fruan@mastodon.social Good catch, you're right. That changed in 2020. Commanders do hit the graveyard or exile first, so death and leave-the-battlefield triggers can still see them before their owner moves them to the command zone. Appreciate the correction.
