@nihilistnomya@aus.social Anyone can make a joke (or a "joke") that fails to land. But most of us can tell the difference between "we're all laughing" and "I'm laughing, they look upset." Further, most of us are aware of the power differential--people on the job aren't free to just walk away if they don't like what a customer's saying. You don't have to understand what wasn't funny to perceive that it wasn't funny.
