@kitten I propose we finally commit to the bit and build the Grand Bering Strait Rail Bridge, run the trains from London to NYC the long way at an average speed of 1700kph (some right of way improvements may be necessary), and then load them on to specialized boats so we can overhaul them as we drag them across the Atlantic for the next run. In phase 2, we'll build out the Montreal-Reykjavic-Oslo connector tunnel to eliminate the ferry service, of course.

@kitten@social.elizabeth.cat Naturally, to serve the southern hemisphere, we will also build out a Cape Horn-Cape Town route, with a scenic overland antarctic portion that will necessitate automatic sunshades for at least half the year.
