I posted a few weeks ago about Google Maps now having the ability to pronounce te reo Māori words correctly. So on our way up the coast today, I turned on the voice on Google Maps - something I never do. It was so great to hear 'Raumati' and 'Paraparaumu' pronounced as they should be. I mean, it shouldn't feel emotional, but it kinda was. I can only imagine how a fluent te reo speaker would react.
